A superhero campaign using the old Marvel Superheroes Game (TSR) sometimes know as the FASERIP System after the games stat block
The basics of the game mechanics can be understood in an hour and play is quite fast and simple
Set in a homebrew world with pre-generated characters for game balance and story integration.
The characters have recently been recruited to the Vanguard Project, based in New York City.
Players choose their characters by reading the character’s background information but have no initial information on their Powers or Ability scores.
The tone of the game setting is like those comics of the late 1970’s and early to mid 1980’s so not all that gritty, nothing like Batman Dark Knight Returns as an example.
In January 1980 the Mayor of NYC Anthony Huston in conjunction with the philanthropist Maria Calidos the CEO of the multi-national research conglomerate Vectorian Industries has with Senate & Governor approval created a new team to help combat the rising tide of Meta-Human crime that is plaguing the city of New York.
Your characters were recruited as part of an expansion of the NYC Vanguards six months ago and are now after a period of training are about to be announced to the public as the new Vanguards.
Current Date: September 5th 1982
Newly recruited to the Vanguard Project in the city of New York, your just about finished with basic training and about to face the terror of terrors.....The Press Conference as your announced to the city and the wider world at large.
The campaign begins with some straight forward scenarios to help learn the rules and get used to the city and the environment.
Then things will become more complex as hints of a conspiracy begin to make their presence known.
While the action can be fast and furious there is plenty of opportunity for role-playing
