The setting is medieval and feudal in nature with adventures taking place both within the city itself and the surrounding lands. The adventures will be of varying types; Exploration, Mysteries, Political machinations and of course some good old dungeon bashing.

Campaign Overview

The setting is medieval and feudal in nature, the geography is based in a land that is similar to real world Africa (heavily condensed geography) that was partially invaded by the equivalent of the Roman empire, so hot savannahs, tropical forest, huge mountains.

The country of Mothras is run by a council of 12 Lords & Ladies and an Empress who has the right to veto decisions of the council and is thought to be at least a century old.

The scenarios are a mix of location based adventure (Dungeons, Wilderness and within the City of Duskan itself), exploration, solving mysteries and social / political activity, while kicking down the door, kill the monster, loot it may work sometimes, the monsters tend to be more obtuse and subtle in their scheming, especially within the city itself.

Being a large city there are all sorts of characters with all levels of ability from the lowliest beggar to the Lords & Ladies that rule the land and not everyone is as they may first appear.

Duskan is more of a setting than a series of scenarios and is designed with players exploring a variety of options for the development of their character, not everything is about stats and levels.

Having a goal or multiple goals for your character is essential whether that is taking over a thieves guild, setting up your own business, seeking revenge for a slain loved one, being the richest spice merchant in the city or capturing the most unusual creatures for the arena combats.

Choose something that grabs your imagination!

The more you put in the more you will get out of it.

Players are encouraged to ask questions and work with me to create a character background they are happy with and is compatible with the campaign setting.
