Warboot Madness!

Saturday 27th October saw us hold our first Warboot sale. With 20 traders, every inch of the Daniel Owen Centre building in use and an estimated 200 people through the doors we consider this a very successful launch.

The club raised £505 from table rent and bring and buy sales. A good portion of the sales coming from the generous donations from the estates of Dave Astbury and John Carsley, ex club members. The funds will be made available For reinvestment in the club through our officers in the usual way.

With the artisan market and classic cars outside adding to traffic through the centre, the cafe also did a roaring trade and praise must go to Karen and the volunteers that ran the cafe and kitchen all day.

A massive thank you is due to John Woolley who organised the whole thing, including a mammoth Fb campaign to get us on the map.

Huge thanks also to Mick and Nathan Ahern for help in setting up and sorting figures, plus Alex and Paul for manning stalls and running the bring & buy. A special mention for Colin running the bring & buy stall who, despite being a committed board gamer, was heard on several occasions upselling figures and talking positively about toy soldiers. It is currently unclear if he also made pew-pew noises.

We learnt a lot, and will do this again next year.

Well done everyone involved.
