The Dark Lord is defeated.

But the land is broken and the elves have gone west. Leaderless bands of men and dark creatures, are scattered from the remnants of Pelinor fields. Economies are destroyed and rebuilding does not come cheap.

From the still smoking rubble of Gondor, Rohan and Umbar unresolved petty rivalries and enmity rear their heads once more. This is a place where the weak abound and the spoils of war remain to be claimed.

Middle Earth Roleplaying (MERP for short) was a spin off from the widely Accliamed Rolemaster RPG from Iron Crown Enterprises. Built upon the writings of Tolkein and with some of the best RPG materials ever produced, do not let its age fool you. Written in the 80's and with a reputation for deadly combat, low fantasy magic and a reverance towards the source material, MERP remains a favourite.
