I am John Woolley.
Many of you will know me and some of you wont. I joined the club around 2010 ish at Airbus. I became the treasure when we formed the first club committee in 2020 and helped write the original club constitution (we are about to change), when the old Airbus social club section closed and over saw the move to the Daniel Owen Centre, negotiating our original terms with the DO charity board.
I became Chairman of the club when Pete Jones stood down and was chair for two plus years until I stepped down and was succeeded by Alan.
I am standing at this time for secretary, because I support the proposed changes to the club and I want to help ensure the original goals of the club remain and our principals in keeping it a member led club, are preserved in the new organisations articles and tenets and the club continues to be a great place to game. If elected and then as a director I will always stand to represent our membership and our community of gamers.
The club means a lot to me and it has been an amazing journey to see it grow from the 24 or so of us in the first weeks in June 2021 at the DO centre, to now 3 nights a week and 130 odd of us now. I am very proud to have been treasure then chairman, and after that to have been responsible for starting the TTRPG nights and see them grow and grow as well as preserving our annual Christmas meal event and raffle.
I am usually found running as DM or playing TTRPGs on a Monday and Wednesday or playing Battletech Classic / Alpha strike or some retro early 40k Rogue Trader or something else on a Thursday!
Our club is amazing. Made so by you the members and attendees. I wish to represent you as our members and our club. To see the club move to a new stable structure and to continue to prosper. If you have any questions please message me or ask at a club might.
