The Mighty Christmas Do!

  • 2 min read

For the 25th and final year, Deeside Defenders is proud to welcome all club members to its Christmas Do! Now biggerer and betterer than everer!

Thursday 4th December, 6-11pm.

Christmas has always been a time when we thank those who have helped the club through the year, indulge in good food, questionable company and play silly games while watching one member (usually a Dave) walk off with an infeasibly large number of raffle prizes. We will be BUSY! We expect up to 120 attendees. If you want to come you MUST buy a ticket in advance from the website HERE. You will not be able to turn up and get in without a ticket - whether you are a member or not. So, what can you expect for your £5 ticket this year ...?

Thank Yous

A small number of mercifully short speeches, thank yous and presents to those that have supported the club throughout the year.

Trophies

The awarding of club trophies that have been competed for throughout the year.

  • The 40k Bolter for most dakka player of the year

  • THREE Bloodbowl trophies

  • The Golden Piat (awarded for the first time)

Painting Competition

For the third year Rosemary & Co brushes have sponsored all of our painting competitions with generous prizes. This years Christmas themed competition shall be judged by all attendees and the Mega-Bauble awarded on the night. [Please don't let Alan win it again - John]. To enter, buy a Christmas Do! ticket and bring your Christmassy painted models with you.

The Ridiculously Ambitious Raffle!

The club's raffle has always been a way of saying thank you to the membership and celebrating our community. This year we expect the prize pot to top £1,000. Our hard working Club Officers are currently buying prizes to ensure we have something for everyone.

The club makes no profit from the raffle. Proceeds from every ticket sold goes into the prize fund. Get your paper raffle tickets from one of the club directors, Mat, Alan, Luke and John.

New Name Reveal

This will be the 25th and last Deeside Defenders Christmas Do! The results of the new name vote will be announced at the Do!

Though our name may change we hope this tradition shall continue in 2026 and beyond.

Food

We heavily subside food so that everyone has a wide range of hot and cold buffet food. Make sure to specify any dietary requirements on the form when you buy your ticket. No one goes home hungry! Drinks will be available from the cafe as usual - volunteers to man the cafe are very welcome

With over 100 attendees this pushes the kitchen to its max - clearing and washing up are always welcome on the night.

Party Games

A number of organised games will be running.

  • The annual "how did i not pass my driving test?" game of car racing and destruction in Formula D

  • The Hairfoot Jousting Battle Royale! Come and ram your hobbit mounted goose into other likeminded idiots!

  • A range of accessible and silly board games and card games
